In social conventions, especially those relating to childrenβs education, the onomatopoeia Shhhβ¦ is a sound indicating preserving silence.
When we donβt want things to be heard out loud, we place our finger on our lips and whisper shhhβ¦
Not once has it been said that secrets, especially the less painful βwhiteβ lies, are the basis of family ties or of groups of people who seemingly live happily together but hide unsolved underlying problems.
This theme inspired Avi Kaiser and Sergio Antoninoβs choreography to build a framework for a quartet consisting of two women and two men of different generations who experience the complexity of being together. Love, hate, reluctance, attraction, a sense of belonging, and a need for independence are some of the emotions explored in this work.

The Silent Caravan (2022)
By: Kaiser Antonino Dance Ensemble
Choreographers: Avi Kaiser Sergio Antonino
Performers: Sergio Antonino, Avi Kaiser
Soundtrack: Inbal Dushy
About The Piece:
The work derives from the ancient and current idea of ββthe "journey", not only as a physical action involving our strength and abilities, but also as a metaphor for an "other" place that cannot always be reached and may not even exist. The piece, which premiered in August 2022 as part of Tel Aviv Dance, was inspired by the journeys of people in Ukraine towards safe places. The looks of these people who were completely identical to World War II - resonated and caused situations and feelings to be created. Art history is full of examples of works that predicted complex future situations. The Silent Caravan created in August 2022 could be one of these examples.
